View Full Version : [SOLVED] Displaying the Correct Resolution

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on an Acer Aspire x1200 with an onboard NVIDIA GeForce 9200. It's running on a 32" Emerson LCD Television through HDMI.

My problem is, it's not displaying at the correct resolution. When I originally installed Ubuntu on the machine, it was dual booted with Windows. The correct resolution for the TV is 1366x768, which I know the TV can do because Windows displays in that resolution by default.

I know in the past, in order to force Ubuntu to display at that resolution, I had to edit a file and tell it what resolution to use. I have searched high and low on the internet for the website where I originally found this, but haven't found anything.

So, does anyone know how to do this? or maybe how to make it detect the TV properly to display at the correct resolution. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advanced.
