Welcome to Ubuntu.

Looks like you have plenty of horsepower, I don't see ant problem with that.

What app did you use to burn the iso. image?

Is your DVD-CD drive set to boot first.
Try running live and make sure you have internet and the graphics are working , you can install from live.

It runs perfect in windows, I have a ethernet cable running also, It boots into ubuntu but without a gui, and its just a black screen.

10.04 will install but 10.10+ wont, 10.04 the nvidia drivers wont install, So i get 800x600 on a 1920x1080 monitor and i have tried alot of tutorials on youtube.

As for the iso burner i have used the windows one, nero and alcohol 120%

Thanks for the quick response time btw

I think you need to enable nomodeset, read it so you understand what its doing.
You can do it before install,

I've heard of problems with your video card and nouveau/proprietary drivers.

You may have to get drivers from a ppa such as swat-x, or bleeding edge.

OP, how are you trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, via a DVD you burnt from a downloaded .iso?

If so, did you check the .iso's md5sum before burning it to a DVD-R or a DVD+R? (DVD+R discs which worked fine for me under Ubuntu 10.04.x & 10.10 for creating Ubuntu install DVDs wouldn't boot under 12.04. However DVD-R discs work fine.)

BTW. I've found that burning DVDs at no more than 8x speed works best for creating an OS boot/install DVD.

You should have added the ppa so you will get updates for the driver.

so nomodeset worked?

Click on the unity dash, and type in "jockey" (without quotes).

The hardware drivers majiggy will be shown. Click on it, and it will list (and allow) you to install the compatible video drivers.
