Hi.

This is my first Linux box, which I've been using for about a month. In case it's pertinent: my desktop environment is LXDE, distro is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and kernel is i686.

My question: is there some way to import Gmail contacts to Sylpheed, or do I need to manually add them to Sylpheed's address book?

Thanks.

Here are some instructions for exporting your contacts from gmail to various clients. Unfortunately, Sylpeed is not among them and I do not use Sylpheed to deny or confirm the technique. If, however, you export your gmail contacts to your disk, it follows that you should be able to import them to Sylpheed.

Sorry. Here is the web site:

Thanks very much. I've successfully imported the file, but need to tweak things a bit to get it working properly. I'll post back with directions specific to Sylpheed when I've finished figuring it out.
