Hai i use ubuntu 10.04.I've wine 1.4 in tar.gz format.
How to install that on in my system

Why you must install wine from .tar.gz? It's super difficult. And, you can install from synaptic / software center. It's in repository!

There is no need to install any software from tar balls unless you want to taste out bleeding edge versions .
You can use Software Center to install softwares quite easily in your Ubuntu system .

1. open the software center
2. Type wine and install 'wine'

i didn't have any INTERNET conn., i've only vodafone k3770 modem only.i don't know how to connect that modem in Ubuntu!!!

For an offline installation , all you can do is download the deb packages from the below link and install along with other dependencies .
http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/wine

However for a tarball installation you can follow the steps here .

In order to set up your modem , it is advisable you open up a new thread and state your problem clearly there .People wil surely help you out .
