View Full Version : [photography] Win a book on photography in a tutorials contest

July 4th, 2012, 12:41 PM

We at Libre Graphics World are running our first contest ever, and for that one we decided to appeal to a wider audience. Hence the theme: photography tricks.

If you learned and improved some great photography technique you can share (night sky shooting, studio lighting setups etc.), write a tutorial on that, submit, and you can win one of two awesome books on photography:

Sketching Light: An Illustrated Tour of the Possibilities of Flash, by Joe McNally
Photographically Speaking: A Deeper Look at Creating Stronger Images, by David duChemin

The last day for submissions is July 22.

The contest's jury are:

Mark Probst, avid street and studio photographer and creator of the GIMP Mathmap (http://www.complang.tuwien.ac.at/schani/mathmap/) plugin
Marķa 'tatica' Leandro (http://tatica.org/), freelance graphic designer and photographer, working with Fedora team.
Someone called Alexandre Prokoudine :)

The full announcement with a short list of rules is here (http://libregraphicsworld.org/blog/entry/photography-tutorials-contest-announced).

We shall publish winning entries under CC BY SA 3.0 Unported.

If you don't do photography, but have friends who are crazy about taking pictures, please share the news with them.
