View Full Version : [ubuntu] Openshot exporting

I'm a rank beginner with Openshot. I took a video, encoded by Handbrake to .mkv, and managed to edit out a 71 second clip I wanted. That's what it looked like anyway.

I used the Export Video tool. Exporting took over a half hour. I ended up with a 41 minute video. Everything before the desired 71 second clip, but black & silent. Then the clip.

At least the last half of the movie was removed!

Can anyone give me some pointers? i used the razor tool to remove the unwanted video before & after the clip, then right-clicked and asked OpenShot to Remove the Video.

EDIT: Tried again, made another 41 minute movie. Seems like it oughta be easy to tell OpenShot to jettison everything before the clip!

OMG I didn't notice the slider along the bottom of the screen. You use that to go back & forth across the timeline. In case anyone gets hung up like I did for half a day...
