Hello, I recently have installed a server-version of Ubuntu on my laptop, to see if I enjoy it more than my old Mandriva 2006.

I installed teh LAMPP server, so I had no X, and I wished to install KDE. I used the apt-get install, and I noticed the internet wasn't connecting..

I looked through a multitude of threads here, changing my /etc/network/interfaces, to no avail.

Can somone please help me?

Hmm...

I think we need to see the version of Ubuntu you're using, as well as the contents of your various network configuration files. Also, take a look at this (Wired Ethernet Troubleshooting Process) (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=87643)
