There isn't much in the way of detail about that "microchip"... was it a proper micro-processor doing calculations, or was it just a couple of transistors arranged to form an oscillator and allowed to change state as fast as possible?

anyway, 500GHz is possibly what you'll need for Microsoft's next version of windows after vista... they've already annouced it. It's codename is Vienna
