Trouble connecting to wireless networks

Hi,

Since I've downloaded 12.04LTS my laptop has not been able to connect to the internet wirelessly. I have wireless enabled but ubuntu is not picking up any wireless signals either at home or at work. Any help on how to fix this would be much appreciated :)

Did you try to do

ping 4.2.2.2 ??
what's the output of it when ran on terminal?

Try checking "Additional Drivers" to see if a proprietary driver is available for your wireless adapter.
