View Full Version : [ubuntu] Battery issue with Precise on Lenovo IdeaPad Y570

I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 to dual-boot with Win7, and everything was working fine until I noticed that my battery will be fully charged as shown on the Win7 side, but if I go over to Precise it will only show a couple hours of battery life left, and then will not charge at all when plugged in. It won't die, and there won't be any indicator saying it needs to be plugged in or anything, but it won't take a charge either.
In one instance the Precise side said I had zero battery life and "unknown time to charge" and when I rebooted into Win7 I had 96% battery life.

I have no idea if this is some sort of software issue with not reading the battery correctly, or the battery itself, but it's baffling me. Anyone else have this issue as well or know how to fix this? Any help or recommendation is extremely welcome, as I am still somewhat new to Ubuntu

Hi,
Same problem here :) Also if the battery stays on tune for 2-3 hours in Win7 , in ubuntu it's exhausted for hour and a half :(
