View Full Version : [ubuntu] Console Display

June 3rd, 2012, 07:21 PM

I have a problem with one of my Ubuntu 12.04 machines. When the system bootup, I can see the text until ubuntu loads. At that point it seems like the fonts and display driver used in the console's default display are like garbage (see picture). The GUI mount well and at that poin the display is okay (unless I go in console again with, for example CTRL-ATL-F1).

The videocard is a nvidia 6200 agp, the monitor a ADI Microscan 5g. I have no xorg.conf because when I last changed it I was not able to get the gui to load correctly again so I request to use default setting which brought me a working gui again.

I am also looking into a good working configuration for tv-out as a display extention (to the right) of my CRT monitor. I had it working not so long ago but I got a audio card problem and decided to reinstall everything, solving the sound card problem but destroying my working xorg.conf (at that time the console was a mess too).

Can someone help me?
