Hey guys, do you know some good gif maker to gnu/linux?
I have search a lot and just can't find nothing.

Install the gimp-gap package and take a look at these tutorials:

1) Gimp : Animations (http://www.nwe.ufl.edu/writing/help/graphics/gimp/animation.shtml)

Actually, you can make a multi-layered image in GIMP. Then when you "save as..." a gif file, it gives you the option to save as an animated gif where each layer is a frame!

When I stumbled onto this for the first time and realized how incredibly easy it was, I almost poo'ed myself. I spent countless hours trying to figure out Adobe's ImageReady to no avail.

One of the many small touches that makes GIMP so nice nice nice. :cool:

I know this is a stupid question but how do you load gimp-gap into Gimp?

Install it from the repositories. The next time you start Gimp, there should be a menu called "Video" in your image windows, and an item in the Xtns menu called "Split video into frames."

I'm searching for a programm with which I download youtube videos and then make a gif out of a special scene.
If anyone has the tools could he/she make one for me? here's the link to the video: http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=U6XvDtpn4io and the scene I need is from 0:48-0:54 ; the guy I want to be seen on the gif is the guy left to the guy who is singing. His name is Jack White.
please help me. :(
