Hello, I installed ubuntu 12.04 in my laptop. Everything works perfect. but I have an issue.

When ubuntu starts, the touchpad is detected as a mouse (I've read several entries for similar cases) thus pointer is slow and scrolling doesn't work properly and I can't see touchpad tab.

I thought it was something related to xorg file or a problem detecting the touchpad, but when I suspend my laptop and try to log in again, the touchpad works properly and it's detected as touchpad (Touchpad tab is enabled in configurations).

I think this problem is related to boot options. Do you have any ideas how can I solve this issue? My touchpad is an AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint TouchPad. If you need more details or it is not clear what the issue is please let me know.

Thank you

Hi,

did you try to look at the output of "xinput list" before and after suspend?

I have the same touchpad and everything works in 12.04.
