I need to change the permissions of a conky file I have and need to load at boot up. I know I need to log in as root to do this, but when I change use and log in as root, my password isn't recognised. I am certain I am using the correct password. Any ideas how I can get around this.

Tried that and got: "you are not the owner so you cannot change these permissions."
