No Installation Screen while installing from CD

Hi
After booting from CD with Ubuntu 12.04 (64 bits variant) I got a violet/pink screen for some seconds and then the monitor turns black and I can't see what's going on. The only way out is rebooting the PC.
I have a I7 2600K CPU @3.4GHz and 8GB RAM. The graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti.

Anyone knows what could be wrong?

At install screen (when you boot from disk) press F6 and select "nomodeset". This will disable KMS and resolve your issue.
