The registration page does not work

The ubuntuguide.org login and registration page does not include the registration form. This makes it challenging to register.

Hi Saphil,

In the Welcome Message (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=196812) and the top of the Dapper page at UbuntuGuide.org (http://www.ubuntuguide.org/), you'll find a message noting how to get registered.

You can email Orvils at [ orvils _at_ gmail _dot_ com ] with "New Account" in the subject line, noting the username you would prefer.

The requirement of direct email contact rather than registration through an anonymous registration form is in effect to keep registration personal and direct, given past wiki-vandalism.

If you have any problems getting registered when you email Orvils, drop a line back in this thread, but you should be set to go.

I could send you the screenshot, but I can definitely tell you it does not tell you how to register. This might be too much of a challenge for busy people, who wouldn't bother to hunt you down to ask questions, and sorta begs the question of "Internet=automation."

At noted above, the Welcome Message (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=196812) on this forum and the first section at the top of UbutuGuide.org (http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Dapper) both note how to register. If you click on either of these links, you'll see this information. However, you're right that it should also be listed directly on the Login page for those who miss it the other two places. And, of course, the information is now listed in this thread, too. :)

If you've already emailed Ovils, you probably now have an account, so welcome aboard.

Now I have an account, and the registration form is visible... if I am logged in.
I could probably help you to add the text about how to get an account to the page. I use these OSS forums too, and it is not hard to add extra static text.
