View Full Version : dividing video cd into tracks?

I have some music stuff (copied from old video tapes) as video files, would you happen to know of a simple way to "break it down" into tracks to make it easier to find a particuar song when playing the video from a cd (on a tabletop dvd player)?

I haven't yet found a simple way to do this, the best I've come up with on my own is to cut the songs into separate files but then it's problematic to maintain file size as everything still needs to fit on a single disk.
Does anyone know of a way to simply "cut" the video file into shorter clips without need to re-encode?

I captured another video tape to my computer, split the material in scenes and in Kino's export options ticked Scene Split; so each scene becomes a file of it's own. Worked for me.
I'm still unsure of what to do with the already captured and encoded video - if I do the same wouldn't it get re-encoded, which would be undesirable?
