Hi
I was wondering if anyone knows a way to revert back from the changes made by installing the kubuntu and xubuntu packages.
I installed them after the normal instalation and they changed the boot procedure colors to blue and also the login page.
Is there a way to get back the original look?
Best regards,

You're best to post this message on the Desktop Support section, as this sub-forum is specific to ubuntuguide.org discussion.
But, it sounds as if one of the things you want to do is switch from KDM back to GDM, which will take care of the login screen.
name@ubuntu: sudo dpkg-reconfigure kdm
password: XXXX
Blue screen will appear:
Select: ok
Select: gdm
That should fix your login, but it won't fix your boot process. Desktop Support section should be able to help you with that.

To change back to the Ubuntu brown boot progress (usplash) theme type this in terminal
sudo update-alternatives --config usplash-artwork.so
Then choose usplash-default.so which is the original Ubuntu brown scheme
