View Full Version : [ubuntu] Upgraded to 12.04, Not able to boot into it

I have upgraded my laptop to 12.04 and it still directly tries to boot in 11.10. As it cant pass the splash screen, it sometimes turns off, sometimes freezes. As im asked to choose the system i want to boot with, i choose 12.04 and it boots with no problem. Is this problem about grub and will i be able to solve it by just updating it? Thanks in advance.

I don't understand, you have both 11.10 and 12.04? If you upgraded it should boot into 12.04 not 11.10. And grub2 should be updated automatically.
If you can run the boot info script from the link in my signature and post the results as explained there, it will show more details of your setup.

Yes it did update the grub in upgrade, but i thought there was a mistake and updated it again, it seems like the problem is solved. But after my upgrade, there's been some kind of instability, and my computer freezes all of a sudden. Now i am in gnome classic with no effects, this works properly.
