Forgive me for asking but I could not find the solution after multiple searches.

How are the repositories updated? There are a couple of outdated packages that I'm interested in (MonoDevelop being my biggest interest) but they aren't yet in any of the main repositories.

Here is a copy of my repositories list:
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper-security main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper-updates main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper-backports main restricted universe multiverse

The latest MonoDevelop package shows in Synaptic as version 0.10-0prelubuntu6 (dapper).

The latest available from the developers is 0.11.

Thanks! Also, apologies if this is the wrong forum for this question.

They aren't updated after a stable release except for security updates and total showstoppers. You may request a backport if the software in question is eligible.

Fair enough and thanks for the reply.

How do you request a backport and what determines if the software in question eligible?
