Hey guys.

Got my first server recently! :D

HP proliant ML370 G4. 4 gigs of ram (baw) and only 1 drive. 36 gigs though :D so yay. 3.4 ghz on each of the processors (2) and works fine. I know that Ubuntu server runs in a text mode, but I would like to stick with something basic that I know how to use and not severely F up. In this case it is Xubuntu. I'm currently downloading server anyways in case xubuntu won't work.

HERES THE ISSUE AT HAND:

I have an XU CD, but it doesn't detect any hard drives via the scsi HP array. Is there a malfunction somewhere? Should I try to use a boot disk USB? Help is greatly appreciated :KS

EDIT: It cannot detect any drives so my first thing is to configure or check that the dive is plugged in

Update: The issue has been solved! Not sure how to make it say solved though.

The scsi slot has a light set for a different server that the slot originally went to, but just so happens to match this one perfectly. Part of the fiber optic port was sticking out, blocking the drive from plugging in by just a little tiny bit. I removed that. It wouldn't have been used anyways, plus it was in the way. Might as well.
