I'm either incredibly tired right now or completely blind but I can't figure out how to change the boot splash screen. TO BE CLEAR, I'm talking about the ubuntu loading screen after GRUB and before the login screen. I upgraded from 11.10 Server to 12.04 Server today and it's still showing the loading screen I had to manually installed in Ubuntu Server 11.10. Do I need to re-install the 12.04 desktop shell into 12.04 Server? I upgraded follwing the instruction on the ubuntu website for Server and the desktop is still there and working fine. I'm also at a loss for why I can't adjust the resolution on the login screen. FYI to anyone reading this I' have already tried adjusting the desktop resolution and it makes no difference on the login screen. Any help right now would be appreciated.

Thanks

Did Coffee help?

I am no Server expert, but can't you set the console resolution from the GRUB config? I am currently using Plymouth Manager to set my boot splash screens, but its a GUI tool.
