Ok, when I load Quake 3 it starts in 640x480. I would like to change it it 1152x864 but when I do X crashes and I get thrown to the Gnome logon screen. My desktop resolution is 1024x768, so I tried it and still no luck. My video card is a Radeon 9600 Pro. I have the latest fglrx drivers and I'm running Warty with the 2.6.8.1-5-k7 kernel. Anyone know whats going on?

Which version of ATI's drivers are you using? Have you disabled the DGA extensions in xorg.conf?

What are these DGA extensions? Why should one disable them? VMware complains about I'm not using DGA when I start it... What is it? :)
