View Full Version : [ubuntu] How do I create Multiple Desktops in "Classic Gnome"?

I had installed Ubuntu 11.04 and was very happy with it. I mistakenly upgraded to 11.10 and still have no problems except the default desktop. I followed many posts and went back to the Gnome Classic desktop, and it's okay.

However, I can't figure out how to create multiple desktops in that desktop environment. I suspect that it's easy, if I could figure out where to go to get the option.

Thanks,

Lara

Im not so sure I understand. Desktop switcher?

If thats what you want just place your mouse cursor on a blank spot of the panel and while pressing Alt key, right click and add to panel.

Thanks for the quick reply. I followed you directions and got the setup done. The display of the desktops appears as a lighter black in a black background. How to I change that? I tried a lighter theme, but that didn't help.

Thanks,

Lara
