Hello,

I've been using Unity for about a week now and I'm slowly getting used to it. I now just wanted to search for a file in which I used the word "Pannekoeken". With the old Gnomje search tool I could search for documents which contained a specified word within the document (and not just in the title).

How can I access the old gnome search tool in Unity? Or how can I search within documents with Unity?

[EDIT] On this page (http://askubuntu.com/questions/102369/how-can-i-search-for-documents-in-unity) somebody said that I needed to look into /usr/share/applications, but in there I can't find any search tool. Am I overlooking it or is it simply not there?

It may not be included by default anymore, run this to see & install if need be

sudo apt-get install gnome-search-tool

If desired you can go to /usr/share/applications & drag on to the unity launcher, drag onto desktop, otherwise search in the apps dash or add to an existing quicklist - screen
