I am trying to connect Ubuntu 11.10 to an older CRT type TV.
I am using an EVGA video card and an S video cord.
I think I need the nvidia binary x.org driver but the application that should help me to do this says there is no proprietary drivers available and when I try to install them using the software centre I get the error " Not Found there isn't a software package called "nvidia-glx 173" in your current software sources.
Can anyone help me to find and install this driver

Thankyou

Norm

Do

sudo apt-get update
and try again.

If that doesn't work, we'll need to see your sources list. Do

cat /etc/apt/sources.list

" Not Found there isn't a software package called "nvidia-glx 173" in your current software sources.

Try
sudo apt-get install nvidia-173

Good Luck
