Hi all,
I've been using Ubuntu for just over a year now (still a beginner though) and am using the most up to date version.
I recently changed my system settings to no longer ask for a password at login. When I look at the profile for my administrator account it says I don't have a password. That is all fine.
Here's the problem: When I try to update or install software, I'm asked for authentication via a password. I don't have a password. I enter the password I used before (as well as every other possible password I could have used) and nothing happens.
Really, it's not that I forgot the password or have caps lock on or whatever.
Any ideas about what I can do?
