For those of you who don't know, Inkball is a game which has been included in windows vista for a while now. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InkBall
I was just wondering if anyone knows of a clone of this game (couldn't find one with google, but could be in development). I tried the windows vista beta, and this game is the only thing I really liked in it, it'd be nice to play a clone on linux.

I concur, inkball is quite the awesome game. Any port would be greatly appreciated.

If I have time I will make a clone of it. Inkball is essential for me to run linux on my tablet PC. ;)

This isn't inkball but it's a similar and very addicting flash game.

It may tide you over until an actual clone is released.

It's been a long time since there were any updates on the question of inkball for Linux. My son (10) asked me exactly the same question at the weekend, he regularly plays inkball on our Vista desktop but was using my Ubuntu laptop at the time. Has anyone heard if a version/copy/clone of inkball is available yet??? Thanks.

Had the same thing with my 8 year old son. We found a simple clone like game called Deviant Ball (we couldnt get any 'cracked' inkball games to run). Its a windows game but it dose run under wine on Karmic. Hope this helps.

"Using OpenGL we were asked to make a working clone of Microsofts Inkball game that ships with Windows Tablet PC and Windows Vista. This project was to emphasize our understanding of programming with OpenGL, the handling of collisions and reflections. Limitations: The graphic expectations on this project were very low and focused heavily on the understanding of programming in OpenGL as well as the math required for the game logic. This finished product is well above expectations including custom sprite graphics, complete game mechanics and randomly selected levels. The demo comes complete with an installer for Windows"
We gave it 8/10!
