I'm trying to get exact latitude and longitude co-ordinates for a location in a park from Google Maps.

The method I'm using is zooming in to the location, right-clicking and selecting 'Directions from here'.

When I copy and paste the coordinates into the search bar in Google maps, The location marker jumps to the nearest road.

Is there a way to get the coordinates for the exact location in the park?

There are 2 different lat/long lab tools you can enable inside Google Maps.

At the bottom of the left hand pane that says get directions and my places is the link to "Map Labs"

In that menu you can enable 2 different lat/long tools.

 I've just realised that I was completely wrong.

I saw the red 'A' place marker and its corresponding picture and thought that was the location I had typed the coordinates for. I missed the fairly large green arrow pointing to my location slightly to the right. Maybe I can be excused because it merged in slightly with the trees? Haha

Sorry, and also thanks for your reply. The site you replied with is a lot easier to use than my method! :D

There were certainly no great big green tree arrows that I could see :)
