I am just curious, but why is ubuntu forums coffee themed? The rank of users is in coffee, and the visual representation of the rand is coffee beans. Am I missing something here?

P.S. I hope I posted in the right spot...

This has been asked many times; you'll find many threads with the same topic if you do a search.

My answer: Both Ubuntu and coffee are brown.

Why not?

If it weren't coffee, it would be something else and we'd have posts asking why is it ***** themed?

Coffee and computers are connected in a way, Java for one example.

Well, no one else said it in this thread, so I'll chime in. We like coffee and it's a fun, frivolous theme. I'm afraid it isn't any more detailed than that. :)

It's because the services/professional industry runs on human-hour productivity, and coffee is the cheapest, taxable productivity drug with the fewest side effects, so overproducers like computer nerds love it. It also has different flavours, and can be cut with chocolate which speed and cocaine cannot.

Or at least that's my take on it.
