Greetings, I've been searching about how to update (reflash) the BIOS(s) in my Dell PowerEdge 2600. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 Server. I see for RHEL distros they can do it from the terminal, is there a safe way to do that with Ubuntu or do I have to run a live CD and download and install drivers through the supported live OS as mentioned here: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/servers/f/956/p/19429457/20022324.aspx
This all started because I'm having troubles installing the Dell OMSA 6.5 as outlined here:
http://linux.dell.com/repo/community/deb/latest/
When I go to the http://www.dell.com/support/drivers page and enter my service code for the server I have a long list of updates to do.
So main question is can I update BIOS(s) through ssh or do I need a live CD?
Any other advice greatly appreciated
Thank you
