Hi all.
First, I apologise if this is the wrong place to post this, please be gentle when if you need to correct me :)
I've installed Ubuntu server (if it makes a difference) 10.04.3 onto a machine built on an ASrock N68-GS3 UCC motherboard with 4x 2TB SATA WD HDs, 2GB RAM and a unicore Sempron.
The HDs have a 1GB boot partition on one HD, with a 3GB RAID 0 swap partition on the other three. The rest of the space is taken up with RAID 5 for the OS and file storage.
I installed from a memory stick, and the machine boots fine if the stick is present, but if the stick is not present, then it will not boot.
If I select to boot from the stick, then it boots from the HD. If I select to boot from the HD, then it goes to a black screen with a flashing white underscore symbol and nothing else.
Thanks in advance for your help.
