Hi All,

I would like to ask if there is a relatively easy way of switching between video drivers. The problem I have is the following: my laptop has an nvidia card, and at the moment, it is running with this card. At the same time, I have gnome-shell as my desktop environment, and it is quite slow at times. I have read at a number of places that this speed problem originates from the nvidia driver, and that some people, after installing nouveau, did not have this issue any more. However, I am also doing some development in CUDA, and then once in a while I would definitely need the nvidia driver, otherwise, I cannot use the CUDA libraries. In these cases, I could put up with the speed, or I could also use a different desktop manager.

So, all in all, I would like to use both drivers, and switch between them quite frequently. Hence, I would need a relatively straightforward way to achieve this. Any comments on this?

Cheers,
