Hi how do I remove a windows7 host from a samba pdc? Want to use same computer name and ip address as the old machine. Remember that in windows world the first one has to be removed so that it can be added again with the new one. I once tired this years ago what I did was I used synaptic to remove samba and reinstall samba. used Users and groups to remove machine account but saved the files just in case. But it did not work I could join the computer back to the samba pdc domain but windows7 kept saying bad user name or password. I even used sudo smbpasswd -a user to make shure i was using the correct passwd. That is why I'm aking how you remove a host from a samba pdc so that i do not mess things up again. Anything else I need to know on how to do this in the linux world?
