I know this is an old thread, but I want to bump it anyways. Is there a hearts game for GNU/Linux? I remember searching for one about half a year ago (with Suse) but I couldn't get to compile it. I can't find this specific hearts, but I was able to find one for KDE: KDE Hearts (http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=11535&forummode=2&forumpage=1&forumexplevel=3)

But I don't know what it's called in Synaptic, nor do I want to use KDE.

Any suggestions?

Not a clone of something else but Hearts for Gnome:
gnome-hearts
It's in Ubuntu repositories.
Here's the developers' site:
