Question is unclear to me. Do you mean you want to sell it to him with a fresh installation?

Create a new user, your buddy, give him admin rights, delete your home directory.

Yeah, do a fresh install in his presence. Let him choose his own user name and password. Make sure the partitions are formatted. Then he will get a "raw" ubuntu as you call it and he will know how to do it himself if he messes things up. He will not call you so often to fix things.

Remember, give a man a fish and you feed him once. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for life. Give (sell) a friend a working computer and he will often call you to fix things. Teach him how to fix things and your life is your own.

Show him how to register on the forums and get help.

Regards.

Yes, I'm sure. Every user with a valid account can log in, every user in admin group can use sudo. That's all you need to run and use a Ubuntu system. All your personal stuff is in your home directory, if you rm it the box will be clean as whistle for next owner.
