Last week, I installed Ubuntu OS (Version 11.10).
Everything when well except one thing.
The OS can't read the ethernet card (Netgear ethernet PCI Adaptor GA311).
First, I have the driver cd. Using the OS, how do I install the driver.
Second, if the driver doesn't work. Or the installation fails,
where on the internet do I find a good functioning driver.

Thank You,

As a rule, you don't "install drivers" in Linux
All the drivers are built-in already

Can you open up a terminal, and post the output of

lspci

The driver CD will likely not help you, as those are nearly always Windows drivers.

To open a terminal, click the Ubuntu circular symbol on the top-left corner of the screen, and when Dash opens (search tool), enter Terminal, and then click the application icon that is shown.
