View Full Version : [ubuntu] My Fujitsu t4215's touchpad disappeared

I am running Ubuntu 11.10 and I recently started up my Fujitsu t4215 to find my touchpad and touchpad mouse buttons not responding. I hadn't done anything to the settings of the device so I figured I just needed to restart (which has cured odd little problems like this before). After I restarted I still had the problem, but my stylus is working so I used it to check some stuff.

When I pull up my xinput list the touchpad is not even listed anymore. I do not understand how it could have disappeared or how to make it come back to life. I had a similar problem when I first upgraded from 11.04 to 11.10 and ended up having to do a clean install to fix the issue. I really do not want to reformat the computer, but this is a pretty big issue for me.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
