View Full Version : [ubuntu] Set Homefolders to second hard disk

Hey, i am new to this forum, and to be honest i came here primarily because i have a problem which i can't solve googling it.
Here's what's going on:
I have a PC, which contains 2 Hard disks. 1 60GB SSD, on which i have installed my Ubuntu and a 320gb HDD.
Now i want to reallocate the position of the standard folders such as music, documents.. so that my SSD wont be filled with my large movies and such. I want that all my files are saved to my HDD, and be able to acces them through the usual way.
Is there a (easy) way to do this?
I'm sorry if i wasn't able to find a similar thread that already discussed this.

During the setup you have options of creating partitions for the data (/) and /home. All available drives should show up during that step. You would simply have to choose where things go. In your case the / would be the SSD and /home on any other partition or drive you desire. You can resize the HDD, creating partitions and designate one of those for /home.
