I record videos off my samsung galaxy s2, it records in mp4 format (1920*1080, 29.97 fps, 3gp4 i believe?)

I'm trying to use linux for video editing/compositing/etc.

Every time I import the mp4 files into the VSE the audio loads fine, but the video comes out as 5x as many frames as the audio (syncing problems)

Right now I have to convert the files to .dv files just to sync the audio and video, but ffmpeg doesn't support 1920*1080 resolution dv files.

Any suggestions or ways to get blender to support the mp4 files?

thank you. I know this is a common problem, but I'm hoping we can put an end to this.

also thatís in blender 2.6a, if I use the 2.5 release the closest I get to audio/video syncing is if I change the fps to 24, then it is only off by one sec.
