I either need some type of bug fix, or I need some way of killing applications that aren't vital to shutting down my machine.

Thank you for any help.

Hi there - two things occur;

1) why not just close your programs before exiting? (just being difficult :) )

2) Just a guess, but as it's KDE on top of Ubuntu I'd hazard a guess that it's programs from gnome causing the issue - things like ubuntu's default firefox - that was configured originally for gnome (gtk+) not KDE (qt). If this is the issue, you could of course close the gnome program first, or check out Adrian's post (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=123969) on how to remove gnome programs from KDE's menus

Hope it helps!

What files can I look at to determine why this happens ONLY SOMETIMES?!?!?! I keep trying to google this error http://www.flickr.com/photos/venom104/6426735107/ but I can't find anything of use to my system, I need more information to google.

I have ubuntu 11.10 installed with KDE plasma active.
