Just popped 11.10 on my laptop to see how it stacks up. I was running 11.04 which seemed to run much faster, but that's a different story.
The most annoying problem at the moment is every time I unplug the DC, I get a critical battery warning, even though I'm at 100% and the battery then lasts 3 hours. Is this a know problem?
If it helps I'm on an MSI CR630.
