Sound always muted at statup in Ubuntu 11.10

Sound is always muted at startup that is after the login. i have to unmute it every time. How can i fix this sound mute problem which occurs at the startup?

I'm also having this issue on Kubuntu 11.10 (clean install) and still have to find a way to fix it :-(
