I have been trying for 2 weeks to get onto the ubuntulinux.org site. I always get "The Operation Timed-Out" after about 10 minutes.

I dare not ask any questions yet because the answers may be on that site.

I have tried to get onto the site from work and from home.

Can anyone help.

I am impressed with ubuntu and would like to keep using it.

Cheers

http://ubuntulinux.org/?

Strange - it works smoothly for me. Anyway, I think you can safely ask away here on the forums (although it might be worth doing some searches first for the information you're after).

I can reslove the address www.ubuntulinux.org = 82.211.81.130

But I can't ping or access the website.

I am from Australia, are international requests banned?

Odd. I've been using the site for a while.

Though for some reason that's the url that I most frequently mistype.

Well, some answers might be there. Can you see this site?:

http://ubuntuguide.org/

If you can, then you'll be in good shape. Use this ftp to get the ISOs and packages mirror:

ftp://ftp.belnet.be/packages/ubuntu/

Just copy that into synaptic in place of all of the regular Ubuntu links and you'll be fine.

Yes, thank-you, I can get to http://ubuntuguide.org/ and ftp://ftp.belnet.be/packages/ubuntu/

I still can't get to www.ubuntulinux.org and I am not miss typing it beacuse they are links from google searches.

I will copy that into synaptic and get on with my life (injecting life into my WiFi card)

Thanks.
