View Full Version : [SOLVED] How can I figure out a file location easily

One thing that I've noticed is that if I use the search function to say find a music file, I can't figure where it is once it is located. Like, if I open properties, I just get a semi complete like this
/media/New Volume/Downloads...

Is there a way to either get it to show all of it or to get it to open the file location?

Hi,

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04. When I view properties and see something like:

/media/New Volume/Downloads...

I use my mouse to select all the visible text (including the ...), then use copy and paste into something like gedit. I find this copies the entire path.

Maybe this will work for you?

Edit: I've just found that if you are using the search in Nautilus you can add the Location column: View | Visible Columns
