A few weeks back I ran Update Manager and as part of the list of updates was a few Nvidia drivers. I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop which has an Intel 945GM graphics chip. During that update the following Nvidia drivers were installed:

nvidia-173-modaliases nvidia-96-modaliases nvidia-common nvidia-current-modaliases
Since this update a game called Pipewalker when run makes the screen go all funny. meaning the screen breaks down in to horizontal lines making the screen unable to read The only way I can correct the problem is force the laptop to re-boot.

Before I remove these Nvidia files is there anything I should know before doing such as are these files actually required even if no Nvidia card is installed?

I'd love to hear what you have to say.
