Hi just started a Open University course but as this computer is a duel-boot with win 7 I have been looking for a external hard drive as there is not enough space on the internal one
1 can you get a linux certified external drive (must be sold in the U.K and not just America)
2have not got a spare socket so it must run of the USB and have a cable long enough (at least 50 cm) so it can sit either on the floor or desktop.

Any external USB drive should work, I have never heard of one that didn't.
