My harddrive was getting sick on my Gateway GT5656 Desktop so I got a new one, installed it and put Ubuntu11.10 on it instead of Windows Vista. Everything went great until the EzTune Monitor Protection program kicked in and turned the screen gray and white. Do I have to reinstall Vista or is there some way I can disable EzTune in Linux. I hate to do that since Ubuntu installed perfectly. Thanks

EZtune is a Windows program for a monitor. Unless you installed it, it shouldn't be there.

since I first posted I reinstalled old hard drive with windows and uninstalled EzTune. I put new hard drive with Ubuntu back in and everything went fine for about 30 minutes. Then EzTune theft protection sign came on and turned the screen gray again.

You may have to do more than simply uninstall EzTune.
