Hi

My hard drive is starting to fail (ubuntu is saying there are problems with it) and I would like to use a new hard drive.

Could you guys either describe what I need to do or point me towards the resources that tell me how to:

format the hardrive
and install ubuntu on it

I would like this new hard drive to be my only one and throw out the other one. Also this will only run ubuntu not windows etc.

Thank you!!

You can format with Gparted program from Ubuntu Live CD (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCD).
Format, make partinions or not, select file system and install fresh, clean ubuntu - from Live CD.
And use Firefox - even in instalation time ;)
