Today I received a new DVD Burner. I have not bought one of these for years. I wanted to burn Kubuntu 11.10 on one of the new CD's I also received.

I wasted 2 CDs and 1 DVD trying to get the .iso burnt in Windows XP. Nothing worse than seeing your brand new 50 pack going down the pan.

I booted in to Xubuntu, popped the blank disc, locacated the iso and clicked Burn Image and burnt the image without one single issue. I also for testing sake tried another DVD, again not a single issue.

Windows is so darn annoying sometimes. I need it for work unfortunately, but the reason for burning kubuntu is so that I can run Windows XP in a virtual machine.

I just miss having the option of Linux.

Maybe you should have tried CDBurnerXP (http://cdburnerxp.se/en/home) or imgburn (http://www.imgburn.com/) but hey whatever bro.

That is what I was using in Windows XP imgburn.

I use ImgBurn on any Windows box.

Could have been a hardware thing with Windows, but who knows.
